Architectural Ceramics dates back to 400 B.C.

King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon directed the construction of the Ishtar Gate, decorated with glazed reliefs of dragons and young bulls. Antonio Gaudi brought architectural ceramics to glorious heights in Barcelona, Spain from the 1880s through the turn of the last century. In the United States Louis Sullivan rebuilt the Chicago skyline with gracefully ornamented buildings after the fire of 1871. Then the Great Depression dealt a death blow to architectural ceramics.

Marni Jaime has dedicated her career to the revival of this lost art. The door surround with palm trees is just one example of a unique and permanent structure that she has created and installed.

Major architectural styles: Roman, African, Mayan, Moorish, Asian, Native American Pueblo, Classical, Modern, Craftsman, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Eyptian and Medieval.
